Core Staff
| Imran Malik Study Support Centre Manager Since joining Watford Learning in January 2001, my role has been very challenging and exciting, progressing from an IT Technician to Centre Manager. It has been a fantastic experience being part of a growing professional and respected learning centre in a sporting environment by all in Hertfordshire. My passion has always been ICT and learning, so working for this centre, which provides learning experiences for all ages makes this very rewarding. The atmosphere and staff at the centre, club and county have always been friendly, positive and committed to what we do, which makes my job irreplaceable! |

| Angela
Howl Study Support Centre Manager Hi, my
name is Angela Howl, I have been working for the Learning Centre in several
different capacities since September 2004. My current role is Centre Manager.
Prior to working at Watford Football Club, I was a primary school teacher in a
large school in Kent where I had the additional responsibilities of Head of PE
and Study Support Manager. In this role it was particularly evident the power
and potential that sport has to motivate and inspire young learners. We are
lucky at the Learning Centre as we able to capture this enthusiasm every day
when students come to learn in our state of the art classroom based in the
Vicarage Road Stadium. |

| Kashan Malik
Assistant Centre Manager Born in
Watford, I grew up walking past the Stadium and never ventured inside the great
walls surrounding it. I was 17 years old when I first set eyes on Vicarage Road
Stadium whilst on a Business Studies trip and I was blown away. I began
volunteering at the Learning Centre back in 2001 and the rest as they say is
history. |

| Katie Bowden
Learning Centre Administrator Being a
big hornets fan I have always been connected to the club. It all started back in
1997 when I played for Watford and then became an avid fan of the Golden Boys
following them home and away! |

| Syma Fawad
Learning Centre Tutor I started volunteering at the Watford Learning Centre when I left school, after finishing my GCSEs at Watford Grammar School for Girls. After working at the Centre for a term, I was offered the job as a paid tutor. I had thoroughly enjoyed working with the students and found it highly rewarding so I started my new role, which is very diverse. I work on PfS courses, delivering a range of numeracy, literacy, ICT and key skills activities to KS2 and KS3 students. In addition to PfS, I work on other projects such as Carry On, Family Learning, Drug Education and SAT Booster courses. I enjoy my job at the Watford Learning Centre and find it very exciting and rewarding. |

| Abi Buckley

graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Sports
Science, I moved from Nantwich, Cheshire to Watford, two years ago to gain
experience in working with children. |

Tutor and Mentors
|
Mentors are people of all ages who give up their spare time to volunteer at the Learning Centre. They work alongside the Playing for Success team, supporting students with their learning. They are positive role models for the students who attend the study support programme. The mentors develop good relationships with the students and due to this trust and respect is built. This helps to create a positive learning environment in which the students can achieve to their full potential.
